Casa Palopo

The 9 rooms, all of which overlook the lake are spacious, bright and tastefully decorated.  Each has a private balcony lined with bougainvillea and a small sitting area ideal for watching the sun set between the two volcanoes that dominate the region.

There are numerous, well laid out sitting areas covered in soft cushioning, all of which face the lake so you never feel like your space is being invaded.  The elongated pool is at the far end of the hotel and has the sort of discreet waiter service you would expect of such a hotel.

The dining area is lit by candles, all of which hang like a chandelier over each individual table.  The food is first class and a fusion of Guatemalan and European cuisine and of course includes fresh fish from the lake that day.
