Lamanai Outpost Lodge
Lamanai
Lamanai
Access is usually done by road (45 minutes from Belize City) to the New River and then by speedboat (90 minutes) to the lodge, though you can also drive or fly in and out. However, we would recommend that you take the speedboat option as it is not only a thrilling ride through the narrow channels of the New River but also a great opportunity to see some of the bird life that inhabits the riverbanks.
The lodge has 17 elegantly thatched-roof cabanas made from local wood, which are cool, well ventilated and fully equipped with modern facilities such as 24 hour electricity, hot and cold running water, en-suite facilities, mini bar and ceiling fans. They also have 2 air-conditioned cabanas and 7 lagoon facing cabanas, each of which has a veranda overlooking the pristine gardens or the lagoon.
Lodging here is on a full board basis, and the open air bar and restaurant is situated in the midst of the jungle and offers an eclectic menu full of Belizean delights! These include; local river fish, locally produced fruit and vegetables as well as a variety of homemade breads and desserts.
The lodge also offers a full array of activities from nocturnal walks and boast rides to medicinal trails during the day as well as visiting the stunning Mayan ruins at Lamanai.
