The Springs Resort & Spa
Arenal
Arenal
The springs themselves are spread throughout the property, some next to the main pool and contain Jacuzzis, whilst others are next to the surrounding jungle and have waterfalls. The view from almost all the springs are towards the volcano and a night spent drinking cocktails in the hot springs watching the volcano are a good enough reason to stay here!
The 44 rooms are split into 3 categories; villas, family suites and suites. The villas have 2 separate bedrooms a large sitting area, full kitchen, 2 en-suite bathrooms, a small infinity plunge pool, deck area with BBQ facilities, cable TV, hammocks and lounge chairs. All are made from excellent local wood and have a relaxed charm about them.
The suites and family suites are identical with the exception being that the family suites have a mezzanine with a double bed or two single beds upstairs in a loft style. The rooms all have private balconies with views to the volcano, wooden floors, en-suite facilities, comfortable chairs within the rooms for viewing the volcano, cable TV and mini bar.
Most rooms have 2 queen size beds, though some also have king beds. Despite the size of the hotel, they have managed to make it feel private and personal and it took the staff at the wet bar all of 5 minutes to find out our names from reception whilst we ordered our drinks! The restaurants have a range of international and Costa Rican food and the black bean soup was one of the best in Central America.
