The countryside around Matagalpa is stunning. Rolling hills, lush and green, with bright flowers. Its the poorest part of the country so people here dont have much, many are farmers of some kind and most of their homes are wooden or corrugated iron made shacks. Others rely on the coffee industry which is growing rapidly. So at harvest time, there is work a plenty. Its a shame that locals cant afford to drink the wonderful gourmet coffee which is now winning so many global awards 🙁 If you like your coffee, you can go coffee tasting in Matagalpa and learn how the experts do it.
