La Elvira
Peninsula Valdes
Peninsula Valdes
El Elvira is still a working ranch and as such the eight double rooms are clean and comfortable with private bathrooms and central heating, but still very basic. You come here for its location and the opportunity of seeing some great wildlife. The upside is that the lodge gives you a glimpse into what a working ranch is like.
The decor is simple and typical of the area with pieces of history hanging from its walls. The living room has comfortable chairs and sofas, an open fireplace and an array of indoor games fit for all ages. The outdoor seating is perfect for watching life move by and for watching the twilight of the sun unveiling its reddish and yellowish shades.
They have a range of outdoor activities and the local guides will accompany you along the activities, which are programmed on a daily basis. All the guides are local to the area and willing talk about our ancestors and their traditions.
There are some self-guided walking trails along the coast which allows you to see the extent of the flora species that colour the Patagonian flats here.
