Palmetto Bay Plantation

Built completely of local wood the main house has a small swimming pool overlooking the ocean, the bar sits just above the pool with the restaurant surrounding both the pool and bar.  Staff, are superbly laid back and nothing is too much trouble.  This really is the place to come if you want to get away from it all.
 
The 28 rooms are all privately owned and as such they come fully furnished with a fully fitted kitchen sitting area and most have a minimum of two bedrooms.  Each stand on stilts have a private balcony and are located a short walk away from the beach.  Only three of their rooms actually have beachfront views, though do not let this put you off.  They are spacious with high ceilings, air conditioning in the rooms, ceiling fans in all other rooms, dining area, sofas and televisions. 
 
The rooms also have a small stereo, where the local radio stations will keep you entertained.  The beds are almost all queen size beds, which is the only drawback to the property.  Despite its remoteness the hotel offers a range of activities, all of which can be paid for locally.
