Being neighbours means you can easily combine these two countries, especially when you use Iguazu Falls as the border crossing. Buenos Aires has the culture and the tango, whilst the iconic Rio de Janeiro is not to be missed.
As a guideline, the itinerary outlined below would cost approximately £2,388 per person based on two people travelling and includes all activities on a private basis unless stated, private transfers, entrance fees, accommodation and taxes and meals where mentioned.

Met on arrival in Buenos Aires by our representative and transferred to the Serena hotel for 4 nights in an executive room on a b&b basis. Please note that check in is not until 14:00, though your room may be available prior. Afternoon free for personal exploration.
Met for your half day (4 hr) city tour of Buenos Aires where you will visit the major sites and districts of the city including; the Plaza De Mayo, the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (Old City Hall), built during Spanish rule. From here you continue along 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest in the world, to the Colon Theatre.
A free day for personal exploration where we would recommend visiting the Tigre delta. The delta is a maze of waterways and channels on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. The day is spent exploring the canals by boat stopping off in the small colonial settlements that line the banks of these waters and gives you the opportunity to see a different side of Buenos Aires. Alternatively you could take a boat ride over to the UNESCO city of Colonia in Uruguay.
A free day for personal exploration. We would recommend visiting San Telmo, the oldest district of Buenos Aires and La Boca, the most colourful area with its famous Caminito Street and where on a weekend all the markets are in full flow.
Met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Iguazu, depart on AR 2720 at 07:10 arrive 08:55. Met on arrival for your visit of the Argentinean side of the falls where there are several walks at varying levels, along with a train ride to the Devil’s Throat. Continue in the afternoon to the Das Cataratas hotel (Brazil) for 2 nights in a deluxe room on a b&b basis.
The morning is free to explore the Brazilian side of the falls, which has a small amount of walkways and are located directly outside your hotel. In the afternoon you will begin your Macuco boat safari which begins with a short drive through the surrounding rainforest before taking a speedboat ride up the Iguazu River for views of the falls from below. This can be followed by an optional helicopter ride over the falls for views from above – helicopter is payable locally.
Met and transferred to the airport for your internal flight to Rio de Janeiro. Met on arrival and transferred to the Porto Bay hotel for 4 nights in a deluxe room with an ocean view on a b&b basis.
Met in the morning for your 4 hour walking tour of Rio (private basis). This walk will give you a feeling for the legends and stories woven around the narrow streets and old historical buildings of downtown Rio.
A free day for personal exploration and relaxation. On the weekend the road between the beach and the city is closed giving the city a carnival feel. We would recommend walking the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana today to get a feel for this vibrant city.
Met for your half day (4 hr) jeep tour on a shared basis. The tour begins with a visit to Santa Teresa – a traditional neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro, which features mansions constructed at the beginning of the 20th century by the English who took up residency in the area and today it is home to local artists and intellects.
